自2009年三月SXSW（南西南音乐节）发布以来，Foursquare已有2000万注册用户，总签到数量超过20亿次。Foursquare拥有美国甚至全球的多个最大城市海量商铺数据，恐怕连Google+ Local都望其项背，而且大有赶超Yelp之势。
这次Foursquare更新的主要方面，就是将其庞大的数据量充分利用起来，为用户提供更周到更详细的位置签到信息。Foursquare今年一月份推出了“探索”功能，为用户建立了一个非常独特的生活社交图谱，并在用户的吃喝玩乐上提供了海量数据支持和大量的最佳地点建议。
借助其海量数据资源，Foursquare能够从一个简单的社交签到应用转化成社交化的生活娱乐应用，向用户提供实时的、社交化的、精确的餐饮休闲服务信息。用户用Foursquare不再是为了单纯的签到，而是能够在上面发现自己喜欢的、有趣的娱乐休闲信息。
到时候，三五好友的聚会、逛街、购物等都可在Foursquare上发现他们想要的服务，这将是一个潜力巨大的市场。
